How to Install eSIM on Huawei Devices
Follow these steps to activate your eSIM on your Huawei device
Before You Begin
- Make sure your Huawei device is unlocked and eSIM compatible (P40, Mate 40, or later)
- Ensure you have an active Wi-Fi connection
- Update to the latest EMUI/HarmonyOS version for the best experience
- Have your eSIM QR code ready (from email or eSIM Outlet account)
QR Code Installation
1Open Settings
On your Huawei device, open the Settings app.
2Go to Mobile Network
Tap on "Mobile network" or "Wireless & networks" followed by "Mobile network".
3SIM Management
Tap on "SIM management" or "Dual SIM settings".

Tap on an unused SIM slot and select "Add eSIM".
4Add eSIM
Tap on "Add eSIM" or "Add eSIM card".
5Scan QR Code
Tap "Scan QR code" and use your camera to scan the QR code sent to your email from eSIM Outlet.
Tip: Make sure the QR code is displayed at full size and in a well-lit environment.
6Confirm and Activate
Review the plan details, then tap "OK" or "Apply". Follow any additional on-screen instructions.
7Enable Data Roaming
Go back to Mobile Network settings, select your new eSIM, then make sure data roaming is enabled.
Troubleshooting for Huawei
QR Code Won't Scan
- Ensure your screen brightness is high
- Try displaying QR code on a larger screen
- Use the manual installation method
- Make sure your camera is focused on the code
eSIM Not Connecting
- Toggle Airplane Mode on and off
- Restart your device
- Verify data roaming is enabled
Option Not Available
- Verify your Huawei model supports eSIM
- Update your device to the latest software
- Contact Huawei support for device-specific help
GMS Issues
- On newer Huawei devices without Google services, ensure HMS is up to date
- Check for any system updates that might affect connectivity
